Picking a garden shed - things to consider

An appropriately solid foundation will support and increase the lifespan of your building. Upon smaller timber buildings, the use of 3"x2" (75 x 50mm) pressure treated timber floor bearers at 18" to 2' centres upon solid, level ground may be satisfactory, but this means of support should not be considered equal to a good base.

Consider how valuable your contents of the shed will be - and therefore how secure your shed needs to be. Can your alarm also be fitted to the shed?
Will you need to contact your insurance company to increase the level of cover?
Does your insurance company have rules about what you need to do to make your shed secure?

Do you want windows? Do they have to open? A shed without opening windows may be too hot to sit in during the heat of summer.
